Head of Marketing & Community
- On-site
- Copenhagen, Denmark
Job description
ChurchDesk is the leading technology partner for churches in Europe. We help thousands of parishes move from paper, spreadsheets, and disconnected tools into a single platform that supports their day-to-day work and their relationship with members. We're a vertical SaaS company that grows on the back of trust — churches choose us because we understand them, show up for them, and meet them where they are on their digitization journey.
About your new role
We're hiring a Head of Marketing & Community to build the next chapter of growth at ChurchDesk. You will own the marketing function end-to-end — brand, positioning, content, product marketing, community, and events — and sit on the leadership team. You'll partner closely with Revenue and Product to translate what we do into a story churches trust, and then scale how we tell it.
This is a builder's seat. You inherit a small, capable team of three and a strong foundation, with the mandate to shape the strategy, the team, and the tooling that take us to the next level.
What you’ll own
Marketing strategy — the multi-year plan: how we grow, in which markets, and through which motions.
Brand & positioning — how a church recognises ChurchDesk as a partner, not a vendor.
Content & thought leadership — building trust at scale through editorial, storytelling, and a consistent voice across markets.
Product marketing — launches, messaging, competitive positioning, and sales enablement, in lockstep with Product.
Community & events — webinars, newsletters, on-site events across our markets, led through your two specialists.
Pipeline contribution — defining and delivering marketing's contribution to revenue, jointly with the Revenue team.
Team — coach and grow the existing team; selectively expand as the business scales.
Budget, vendors & martech — accountability for spend and the systems that measure it.
Job requirements
What we’re looking for
Must-have:
A curious mindset that wants to get to know our customers, their opportunities and challenges.
+5 years of marketing experience, including +3 years leading a team in B2B SaaS.
Demonstrable track record of building brand and category awareness in a trust-driven, considered-purchase market.
Strong product marketing chops — you've shipped positioning, messaging, and launches that landed, and you partner naturally with Product.
Evidence of building marketing as a growth function alongside Sales/Revenue — you've owned a number and a narrative at the same time.
A strong writer and editor who sets the bar for the team's voice
Experience managing a distributed team across countries.
You communicate clearly and confidently in English. An additional language such as: Danish, Norwegian or German is a plus.
Nice to have:
Vertical SaaS experience, or experience marketing to a mission-driven community (nonprofits, faith, education, healthcare, public sector).
Worked at a company in the roughly €5M–€20M ARR range and helped it scale.
Comfortable in markets where the buyer is atypical — slower cycles, trust over features, brand carries weight.
European multi-market go-to-market experience, especially DACH and the Nordics.
Your preferred way of working:
You lead with respect for what makes our customers' work meaningful. Churches are an institution to support, not a vertical to extract from.
You're a clear thinker and an even clearer writer.
You're hands-on enough to set the standard, and disciplined enough to scale through your team.
You hold two truths at once: brand takes time, and we still have to hit a number this quarter.
What We Offer
You'll work on something that matters, with people who care, in a category where great marketing is still a rare advantage. The buyers are thoughtful, the mission is real, and there's room to build something distinctive.
An open, warm work environment – you’re not just a number, but a valued part of the team.
Beautiful, modern office space in Copenhagen – central, vibrant, and well connected.
Fancy a change of scenery? Come visit us in Berlin! We’ll cover all your travel and expenses so you can work alongside the team and soak up the local Berlin vibe
30 days of vacation – because rest matters.
A transparent and supportive feedback culture – grow together, learn from each other, and communicate openly.
Unforgettable team experiences – from company events to trips like sailing in Croatia, ski trips, and visits to our Copenhagen office.
