Job description

ChurchDesk is an ambitious scale-up exclusively focused on the church vertical in Europe where we help drive change for some of the largest and oldest institutions in the world.

We are looking for a UI/UX designer to join our lean product team. You will report to our CPO who leads product management and customer delivery of our enterprise solutions.

As our UI/UX designer you will play a key role in creating intuitive user experiences with clean and simple UIs as well as UX copy that customers will appreciate every day.

We work on big ambitious and strategic products for our customers, but we try to not let perfection get in the way of progress. We always start by shipping the smallest viable version 1 to start out with. As a result you will always strive for finding the simplest solution to complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • User advocate: Be the users’ advocate and create simple solutions customers will love to use

  • Wireframes & Mockups for research: Create wireframes and mock-ups (browser and mobile) together with product managers for user research

  • User research: Carry out user research independently and directly with our Danish or German users to understand needs, explore or validate solutions

  • User journeys: Map out user journeys where necessary to improve understanding and to design the user flow

  • UX Copy: Collaborate with product managers and our translation team to get UX copy right

  • Validated mockups for implementation: Create validated and detailed mockups to ready for implementation

  • Collaboration & Review: Collaborate with product managers, developers and QA during implementation and perform design review

Personal Skills

  • You have empathy and are genuinely curious about users, keen to hear about how they work and use our software.

  • You start small and focus on a deep understanding of the core problem - you don’t feel the need to invent the wheel if answers are easily found in pattern research, but where necessary you can apply first principles thinking

  • You share early and often, iterate based on feedback from users, engineers, support and others.

  • You have attention to detail while not losing sight of the big picture

  • You have a bias for action and getting things done. Focusing on outcomes that move the needle for our users.

  • You exhibit clarity of thought with excellent communication skills

Experience

  • Relevant experience or proven talent with an excellent portfolio to share is more important than years in the field or formal education

  • You are at home in Figma, FigJam and you have a good understanding of what drives technical complexity in your solutions.

  • Ideal domain experience is startup/scale-up experience working with web and mobile user experiences.

  • As a minimum you have a relevant bachelor’s degree
